Twitter is Down… what are we to do?

I got into work today, read through my emails and rss subscriptions. I found an article I wanted to share on twitter only to find out that twitter is down.  It’s been an hour and a half and it’s still down. I thought of the next closest thing to a live search and did a google blog search for twitter down. Twitter has become a great way to get the word out about something going on in the world but what happens when that something is twitter? Let’s hope it’s not because of a hack.

How I Manage My Blog Comment Links

I want to encourage discussion on my blog and I know since my blog is very focused on SEO that I’ll probably get people looking for followed links(or dofollow). Of course I can’t just let every comment have a dofollow link because then I would be bombarded with comments with little or no value. Here’s the compromise I came up with; I will review each comment and if I find the comment to be valuable and the link to be trustworthy I’ll make your comment link a dofollow. So please take the time to read my posts and give your feedback. How I Manage My Blog Comment Links continued »

This is a collection of websites, that offer free backlinks, any commercial website should be listed on. When choosing these websites they had to meet three criteria; high page rank, authority and trustability. In addition to the three criteria I wanted to list websites of different categories including; local listings, website directories, social networks, bookmarking sites and information syndication. These sites are all very sought-after so many of your competitors are already listed. These backlinks come from high page rank sites, ranging from PR6 to PR8. 9 Important Backlinks for Commercial Websites continued »

Think Links!

I’m going to step back from thinking about keyword usage, page structure and other on-page elements for moment and talk about something I always think about when doing anything for a client or myself… LINKS!

Even before Google’s algorithm came around, links were still a very important part of increasing your online visibility. Just ask link building expert Eric Ward who’s been building links since 1994.  Think Links! continued »

Why Is This Website So Plain?

Some of you might of arrived here thinking “why is this website so plain?” and that’s a perfectly normal thing to ask. Every Blog Needs a First Post

I thought it was time I setup a blog on my personal domain as an opportunity to express my thoughts on all things SEO. If you found my blog you may know me from the Pittsburgh SEO Group or Eyeflow Internet Marketing, the SEO firm I work for. I hope you come back to read some of my posts, which have yet to be written but trust me there’s a lot of thoughts I need to get out.
